To me they are almost completely different watches. 45 is super simple with a basic metrics. 735xt seems superior in almost every aspect. However, 45 has Couch (not sure if 735 has it). 45 is so basic it doesn’t even have neither recovery time nor race predictor (perhaps 45plus would be better here). 735 has no barometer so Instinct is better for trail running/hiking/skiing activities. 735 does support cycling power meters. It is also a triathlon focused watch. 735 does have performance related Firstbeat metrics, Instinct has not. 735 supports Connect IQ watch faces, data fields, apps, widgets.
